Hot water tanks, brewhouse system tanks, enzymatic hydrolysis tanks and many other tanks are equipped with manholes or hand holes. The manhole and hand hole are an accessory on the tank, which adopts a quick-opening structure and can be applied to large stainless steel tanks and containers. The setting of manhole and hand hole is to facilitate the installation, disassembly, cleaning and maintenance inside the tank. When the inside of the tank body needs to be cleaned or overhauled, the staff can put their hands in through the hand hole to overhaul the tank body. Manholes are usually used in larger tanks, allowing workers to enter the tank for maintenance. Like a typical fermenter, it is usually a manhole.
Manhole installation
The manhole is a safety emergency ventilation device installed on the storage tank, and it is usually used in conjunction with a pressure gauge and a mechanical breathing valve. It can not only avoid accidents caused by sudden overpressure or vacuum in the tank, which will damage the storage tank and cause accidents, but also play a role in safety fire prevention. It is a safety device to protect the storage tank, especially suitable for arches where the storage materials are capped with nitrogen top atmospheric tank. It has the advantages of constant pressure discharge, constant pressure suction, flexible opening and closing, safe fire resistance, compact structure, good sealing performance, safety and reliability, etc.
Manhole classification
Manholes are divided into emergency pressure relief manholes, explosion-proof and fire-resistant breathing manholes, tank roof manholes, tank wall manholes and manholes with cores, etc.
Manholes are generally made of 304, 316L stainless steel plates or carbon steel.
The design of the inner opening oval manhole commonly used in fermentation tanks is mainly to facilitate the staff to enter and exit the tank for work and maintenance. In order to meet the working pressure requirements and sealing performance, a sanitary ring gasket is installed at the joint between the manhole door opening and the cover. And the strength of the handle of the light is also calculated through strength, so that the manhole door can be tightened and not loosened when in use. If the wine liquid leaks through the manhole door during the brewing process, not only part of the wine liquid is lost, but also the risk of bacterial contamination of the whole tank of wine liquid is increased. Therefore, the setting of the side manhole door must use good quality materials to stabilize the normal use of the fermentation tank.
Some fermentation tanks are equipped with a flange handle type manhole door on the top of the tank and do not have a side manhole door. Generally, such a small fermenter is not suitable because the side manhole door is too large. A single flange on the top of the tank can pack enough pressure to stabilize, and it can also be opened for maintenance and cleaning after the tank is emptied. The bigger ones are because the fermenter itself is already big and needs to use the tank top platform, and the operator needs to carry out maintenance and observation on the tank top. This type of tank group needs to be set on the top. In addition, this large tank will be accompanied by a small cone in the form of a flange connection at the bottom. In the case of bottom inspection, it is convenient to enter the tank body for inspection in a short time. Of course, it is more important to observe the manhole door on the top of the tank, and work safely when the tank is empty.
Several surface treatment methods commonly used in elliptical manholes with inner opening
1. Internal and external mirror surface: mostly used in high-demand equipment such as food and dairy machinery. The inside and outside are bright, the surface is like a mirror, and the appearance is beautiful and smooth.
2. Internal and external matt: The relative requirements are not so high, and it does not need to achieve the effect of mirror surface. It only needs a little rough polishing. It depends on the customer's requirements and the effect.
3. Pickling treatment: It is mostly used on industrial grades. The surface can be pickled directly, and no other treatment is required. Like many construction sites, this is commonly used, and the cost will be relatively reduced.
